Will new LEDs fit my old downlight holes?

Most of the time, yes — there are LED fittings made for common halogen cut-out sizes. If the holes are unusual we'll tell you before starting.

Is switching from halogen to LED worth it?

LED downlights use a fraction of the power of halogens, last far longer and run much cooler, which also lowers the heat risk in the ceiling. Most people notice the difference on the power bill and stop replacing blown globes.
